Reflexology is an alternative medicine involving application of pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion.
What are the benefits of Reflexology?
Some of the benefits of reflexology include its ability to stimulate nerve function, increases energy, boosts circulation, induces a deep state of relaxation, eliminates toxins, stimulates the central nervous system, prevents migraines, cleans up urinary tract conditions, speeds recovery after injury or surgery, helps relieve sleep disorders, reduces depression, and relieves pain. Furthermore, it can help ease the treatment of various cancer and even helps to soothe the pains of pregnancy, even those occurring after the baby is born.
Having worked in a stressful corporate sales office for nearly 10 years, I felt the need to find a career that I could be passionate about and that would better reflect my personal values. My life long affinity for natural health practices led me to the practice of Reflexology and Therapeutic massage.
I completed my Diploma of Reflexology and Cert IV Massage Therapy in Perth in 2014 and have been fortunate enough to work alongside some amazing health practitioner’s since. In recommending a holistic approach to good health, I strongly promote stress management practices to all my clients. Everyone seems to be stressed these days. We're anxious about everything from our careers to our relationships to our food choices to our workouts.
We all have too much to do in too little time, and we seem to rush around from to-do to to-do without a whole lot of down time in between. Both Reflexology and Therapeutic Massage have an amazing effect on calming the sympathetic nervous system .During a session, a state of deep relaxation is created in the body, interrupting the pattern of stress and bringing balance to the body and its systems where there is imbalance. I like to incorporate reflexology into all my therapeutic massage treatments to create the ultimate in relaxation.
